Uchiha Legacy
The lineage of an ancient clan — traced from the Warring States through the massacre to two women who arrived in the Boruto era from entirely different directions.
The Uchiha Clan Massacre is not the end of the lineage — it is the gravitational centre that every subsequent character orbits. Two of the three Uchiha alive in the Boruto era did not grow up there. Megumi comes from the age that built Konoha, and finds it unrecognizable. Akari comes from after the massacre, and only ever knew the village through the final moments of a woman who died in it. Neither arrived by choice. Both ended up under Sasuke's shadow.
The lineage below traces two distinct threads from the Warring States to the present: the main line that survived the massacre in a single person, and the hidden branch that survived it by never being found at all.
The Lineage
Main Line
Patriarch of the Uchiha Clan during the age of constant war between great shinobi families. Father of Madara, Izuna, and Megumi.
Co-founder of Konohagakure alongside Hashirama Senju. Later defected, consumed entirely by the Curse of Hatred. His final act during the Fourth Shinobi World War was a Rinne Tensei that restored Megumi to true life.
Madara's younger brother and the clan's second-strongest fighter. Mortally wounded by Tobirama Senju; donated his eyes to Madara before dying.
Sister of Madara and Izuna. Kenjutsu master and field medic. Assassinated before Madara's defection — her death was the act that broke him. Later reanimated by Edo Tensei, then restored to true life by Madara's Rinne Tensei. Time-displaced to the Boruto era by an involuntary Mangekyō activation.
Itachi Uchiha kills the entire main branch on Danzō's orders, sparing only Sasuke. The act erases the clan from Konoha's present — and makes permanent what Megumi's death had already set in motion.
Sole surviving member of the main branch after the massacre. Shadow protector of Konoha. Verified both Megumi and Akari when they arrived in the village, and took both of them on.
Daughter of Sasuke and Sakura. Carries the Sharingan toward a future the clan's history never made easy to imagine. She intends to become Hokage, and the clan's name with her.
Hidden Branch
A main branch Uchiha whose mastery of Izanami placed her among the clan's most technically skilled. Before the massacre became inevitable, she led a small faction of the clan into hiding — establishing a sanctuary beyond the reach of the Five Nations.
Maintained in total secrecy in a remote mountain range. The branch survived the massacre intact — completely absent from Konoha's records, unknown to Danzō's intelligence network, and unknown even to Sasuke until Akari arrived carrying Naori's eyes.
A distant descendant of Naori. The first of the hidden branch to make contact with the outside world. Arrived in Konoha carrying Naori's transplanted eyes — and through them, a firsthand witness account of the massacre the branch survived by never being found.
The Awakened Eyes
Awakened during a winter campaign in which two younger siblings died in a skirmish Megumi arrived too late to stop. The pattern collapsed inward — a black hole rather than a blade — which she found accurate.
Awakened when ancestral visions reached their climax — Akari experiencing Naori's death during the massacre as if it were her own. The pattern came out jagged and sharp rather than flowing, which suited someone whose grief arrived as an inherited wound rather than one she had time to brace for.
After years of Mangekyō use pushed Akari toward permanent blindness, the branch elders revealed that Naori's original eyes had been preserved since the massacre. The transplant fused both patterns — Akari's shuriken interlocked with the petal form of Naori's original eyes.
Two Survivors, One Era
Two women shaped by the same event, arriving at the same village by entirely different routes, in the same era — and neither of them supposed to be there at all. The parallel is structural rather than personal: what connects Megumi and Akari is not their relationship to each other but their relationship to the same history, approached from opposite ends.
Megumi's arrival is the more disorienting. She was the catalyst. Her assassination removed the last human anchor from Madara's resolve, which is why the village she now walks through exists the way it does — built on a peace her death helped make possible, inhabited by a generation that doesn't know her name. She knows this. She has sat with it. The neon lights and thunder trains are partly her inheritance.
Akari's arrival is the inverse. She grew up with the massacre as an ancestral memory — something that happened to people she never knew, transmitted through a dead woman's final moments in her Sharingan. Konoha was, to her, a graveyard with a skyline. What she found instead was a village her ancestor helped build, rebuilt, and rebuilt again — and Sarada Uchiha, who intends to run it. The distance between what Akari expected and what she found is where most of her adjustment happens.
Sasuke is the point of intersection, though not one either of them planned for. He verified Megumi's impossible claim. He verified Akari's bloodline. He took both of them on, in the specific way of someone who has spent years understanding what it costs to carry this name and is not prepared to watch someone else pay that cost alone. He has never said this out loud. He doesn't need to.
